Forest Hill School Council By-laws
As a school council member, you can help Forest Hill discover new and exciting ways to contribute to the education of your students. Education is a partnership involving parents, students, teachers, principals, school boards, government, and the community. Your involvement in the council gives you the opportunity to strengthen that partnership, and to be part of a dedicated team working to ensure a high quality of education here at Forest Hill. Your participation can make a difference!
Forest Hill School Council Annual Report from 2019-2020: There is no report due to Covid Closure.
Why join us on school council?
Involvement in school council is a meaningful, hands-on way to have a direct, positive impact on your child’s educational experience. Research shows that when parents are involved in their child’s education, the level of student achievement increases.
Support for school councils is provided by the Simcoe County District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee.
The Role
- focus on student learning and the best interest of all students,
- provide a forum through which parents and other members of school communities can contribute to improving student achievement and school performance,
- make recommendations to the school principal and the Board on any matter they see impacting accountability and academic excellence and;
- serve as a communication and information channel between the school and community
