In Spring 2019, the SCDSB is offering After School Social Skills Development Programs to support students with ASD at locations in Barrie, Orillia and Angus. The programs will focus on using recreation, music themes and friendship training to support social skills development.
In partnership with Shawn Delaire and Playball, the SCDSB will host two 10-week sessions at the following locations:
- Oakley Park Public School, Barrie on Wednesdays, April 10 – June 12, 2019 from 4 – 5 p.m.
- Angus Morrison Elementary School, Angus on Thursdays, April 11 – June 13, 2019 from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
In partnership with Heidi Flynn, Accredited Music Therapist, the SCDSB will host one 10-week session at the following location from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.:
- Couchiching Heights Public School, Orillia on Thursdays, April 11 – June 13, 2019
In partnership with Autism Ontario, the SCDSB will host two 10-week sessions at the following location from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.:
- Maple Grove Public School, Barrie on Wednesdays, April 10 – June 12, 2019.
